Windows Live Messenger Is Bribing You To Message More

For all of you that actually use Windows Live Messenger, it would seem Microsoft is making a sad attempt to bribe you to use it more. For every time you start a conversation they will donate a portion of their advertising revenue to one of the charities you pick out from the list.

The charity has been going on since March and they have only rounded up $35,000. Keep in mind all of the money is spread out between ten charities. The little amount could be due to three different things, no one knows about it, no one uses Windows Live Messenger (formerly known as MSN Messenger) or they are donating very very little every time you start a conversation. The bad thing is that you have to actually pick the charity and punch in the code before it starts donating. Which I suspect very few people know to do.

The different charities are American Red Cross, Boys & Girls Club, Humane Society, National AIDS Fund, National MS Society, ninemillion.org, Sierra Club, StopGlobalWarming.org, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and UNICEF. If you do use them just go to this link to see the steps to follow to get started. Microsoft has mentioned that there is no limit as to how much they donate.
