Windows Phone 10 or, as it’s otherwise known, Windows 10 for phones, will be hitting the Technical Preview soon. Good news for those of you with the HTC One M8 for Windows, Lumia 1020, and Lumia 1520 is that it would appear that the first line of devices to gain access to the Technical Preview will be – well – you. This won’t be the exclusive list of devices to get the Windows 10 Technical Preview, of course – there’ll be lower-end devices to get the update as well.
Word comes from Windows Central where an anonymous source suggests that Operating Systems Group (OSG) testing is done and Early Release Software is out internally. They reinforce the suggestion that these three phones are NOT an exhaustive list of devices that’ll be getting access to the Technical Preview of Windows 10 for phones.
WHEN: Unknown. Internal testing is taking place now, and the Technical Preview may be released to the public soon.
Developer Jesse Leskinen also suggests that “people inside or close to Microsoft” have shared findings with him that include the Lumie 925 working with Windows 10, and that it’s very possible this update MAY go back to Lumia 920 as well. That’d be quite the miracle.
UPDATE: Another possibility – through Leskinen – is that the Lumia 635 is currently in internal testing as well. Same goes for Lumia 930.
