Windows 10 Commercial [Updated]

Earlier today, we published an opinion piece expressing dislike for Microsoft's first commercial for the upcoming Windows 10 release. As with most opinion pieces, it prompted some discussion in the comments section, some of it questioning whether the author was being myopic in how they interpreted the advert.

Others questioned the phrasing of the title, or whether this was "Microsoft bashing" for its own sake.

While I'm personally not a fan of this latest commercial – I think Microsoft has done better in the past, and I'm looking forward to seeing what the company comes up with next in the ongoing discussion around Windows 10 – I do believe that we may have been too flippant on this occasion.

It's with that in mind that I've chosen to take it down. One of the things I most appreciate, and value, about online publishing is the immediacy of the feedback from readers. If you agree with something, you let us know; if you feel like we've missed something, you're just as vocal about that.

Often we're educated as a result of your feedback: many times, I've been taught different things, or shown different perspectives, by readers.

Moving forward, I'm going to be working more closely with the editorial team as a whole on making sure we're consistently delivering the sort of content you deserve to read.
