Walmart Exclusive DC "Giant" Comic Anthologies Kick Off Next Month

DC has announced plans to launch exclusive "giant" comic books in Walmart retail stores on a monthly basis. These ultra-sized books will be anthologies containing both new and existing content, according to DC, which will deliver its first Walmart exclusive in July. More than 3,000 Walmart stores across the nation are participating in this exclusive delivery, the company says.

Each anthology will be 100 pages in length and come with a $4.99 USD price tag. Each book will have stories that are exclusive to those editions, each written by DC creatives including Andy Kubert, Dan Jurgens, Tom King, and more. A total of four anthologies will be released at Walmart.

The company has detailed each upcoming release ahead of its arrival: Superman Giant #1, Teen Titans Giant #1, Batman Giant #1, and Justice League of America Giant #1. Whether the company will expand this partnership in the future to include other Walmart-exclusive releases hasn't been stated.

According to DC, each anthology will contain "additional story arcs" from some popular DC eras, such as "Rebirth." As well, each book will contain existing content, such as the Superman Giant #1 anthology featuring 2005's "Green Lantern #1," among other things.
