Viking Modular Element SAS SSDs debut

Viking modular has a full line of hardware and gear for the enterprise market that covers a wide range of uses. The latest new product from the company is a new SSD for enterprises uses called the Element SAS SSD. The new drive attaches to enterprise computer gear with SCSI SAS interface and is available for qualification right now.

The Element SAS SSD has a dual-ported 6GB SAS interface and uses advanced parallel NAND channel architecture. The architecture is optimized to deliver performance and availability for critical applications in the enterprise world. The SSD uses MLC NAND and eMLC NAND in the drives rather than SLC NAND.

The SSD is offered in 100GB to 400GB capacity with MLC and eMLC NAND or 50GB to 200GB in SLC and claims to have the best sequential and random performance in the category. The SSD has SMART command support and has intelligent wire features to optimize the endurance of the drive.
