Verizon Galaxy S5 release joins HTC's retail double-down

This week the Samsung Galaxy S5 is being presented at Verizon with the same sort of release as the HTC One (M8). When the HTC One (M8) was unveiled last month, the company made clear that they wanted to put as many devices in user hands as possible, offering a buy one get one deal to the masses. Samsung, it seems, is also ready to get in on the party.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 is a smartphone with a 5.1-inch 1080p display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor. This device works with a 16-megapixel camera on its back with an autofocus of 0.3-seconds, and you'll find a 2-megapixel camera up front as well.

This smartphone is being offered by Verizon at a $249.99, this becoming $199.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate debit card. A similar situation exists with the "free" Galaxy S5, it costing you $50 right off the bat but becoming free after a $50 mail-in rebate debit card.

You'll also need to sign up for 2-year contracts with both devices when you purchase them. You can also order these devices online, just so long as you're ordering with 2-Day Shipping Monday through Friday, earlier than 4:30 PM.
