Tumblr now has its own line of clothing featuring an eclectic array of apparel adorned with artwork from ten of the social network’s artists/users. The line isn’t limited to just clothing — there’s a backpack, for example (as well as a kimono); it’s unisex and designed to look the same as the Tumblr collective, at least in spirit. Half a dozen Tumblr users have also been selected to show off the new product line.
The new Tumblr wear is said to be in celebration of Tumblr’s 10th New York Fashion Week participation. Said Tumblr’s so-called fashion evangelist Valentine Uhovski, “We wanted every look to feel like a Tumblr post. When you enter the pop-up shop [a physical shop in New York], you’ll feel like you’re inside of a Tumblr dashboard.”
If you’re not in New York or don’t fancy a visit to the pop-up shop, Tumblr also has an online shop, which will be launching on September 14. The online store is called “PAOM”.
Tumblr aggregates the clothing into categories by artist, as well as “trending”; there’s also an option to design clothing items, including dress shirts and a jumpsuit. Other items include bags, pillows, curtains, a beach throw, and more. It seems prices start at $30 USD, though many are in the three-digits range.
