Toshiba and Best Buy develop Satellite L635 notebook for kids

Several notebooks on the market today are aimed directly at kids. These are usually small netbooks that have rugged features and bright colors that would appeal to kids. Toshiba and Best Buy have teamed up to deliver a new notebook that is aimed at kids with special features that will help it stand up to the rigors of youngsters.

The notebook is called the Satellite L635 Kids PC. The L635 is a machine that we have heard about before when it surfaced back in June in standard form. The kids version of the notebook is full size and designed with kids five to ten years old in mind.

It comes with software installed to ensure that the kids are safe online and software for education and entertainment. The machine also has a keyboard that can be cleaned and a 13.3-inch screen. Other features include an integrated DVD drive and a webcam with software for kids. The machine will also ship with a pair of Disney movies installed and the Lego Batman game. Pricing is unannounced and the machine will be in Best Buy exclusively starting on September 26.
