Tony Hawk: RIDE has finally been priced, and that clever skateboard controller isn’t doing gamers on a budget any favors. The game plus the controller comes in at a not-inconsiderable $119.99, according to Gamestop.
Versions for the Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii will be available, all priced the same. Each will begin shipping on October 13th, and are open to pre-orders now.
The controller uses motion sensors to track body position, and infra-red sensors can recognize grabs around the edge of the board. To push, you run your foot along the edge, and Tony Hawk: RIDE apparently allows for multiple levels of “realism” in how accurately movements are translated.
