This is the pink Galaxy Note 8 you can't have

While manufacturers are trying to make black the new black again, there will always be markets where different colors hold sway. One such market, apparently, is Taiwan, whose obsession with pink hasn't faded even a bit. Naturally, after launching the pink Galaxy S8 earlier this year, Samsung has now announced a pink Galaxy Note 8 in the country as well. But if you're eyeing to get one for yourself, better luck next time because this might be available only in Taiwan.

Considering we've never had pink phones for years, it's almost surprising to learn that 30% of smartphone sales in Taiwan were made up of devices in one shade of pink or another. And while such devices are marketed primarily at women, it's certainly possible that members of both genders have tried to acquire one over the course of the recent years.

This "Star Pink" (or "Star Powder") Galaxy Note 8 is thankfully only different in that regard. But instead of just having the back cover in pink, the sides and buttons of the device are all in pink as well. The camera area is, sadly, all black but what little bezels there are on the front are happily black as well. Not a trace of white here. As with the other Galaxy Note 8s, the S Pen matches the phone's color, so it's also pink.

In everything else, this Pink Galaxy Note 8 is just like the Midnight Black, Maple Gold, Orchid Gray, and Deep Sea Blue Galaxy Note 8s. There's no change in specs, so you still get the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, a 6.3-inch WQHD+ Infinity Display, 6 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of storage. This particular color variant will retail for 34,200 TWD, which is roughly $1,100, definitely more than your average Galaxy Note 8.
