T-Mobile teaser confirms "edgy", "Six Appeal" of Galaxy S6

We've seen quite a few leaks and teasers about the Galaxy S6, some coming from Samsung itself. With MWC 2015 so close, however, even mobile carriers are jumping on the train. T-Mobile has just put up its pre-release email registration page and, while that act itself is nothing newsworthy, the carrier is throwing in a teaser our way as well. It is probably the clearest preview of the Galaxy S6 we've ever had, but, like any good teaser, it still leaves some questions open for us to think about.

Is it the Samsung Galaxy S6? There's very little doubt about that, even though T-Mobile, of course, doesn't outrightly say so. The "Six Appeal" is a dead giveaway. But more than the name, it's the design of the teased device that is naturally most interesting to us.

It has a curved edge similar to that of the Galaxy Note Edge. At least that much is confirmed. But will the curves go on both sides? We can't flip the phone to check the other side, but we can very well guess it would be. Interestingly, the power button seems to have been placed further towards the back than a normal Samsung smartphone. On the Galaxy Note Edge, it was relocated to the top because of the curved edge of the screen.

But is this the Galaxy S6 or the rumored separate Galaxy S6 Edge. Again, T-Mobile isn't saying, but it would be rather strange if the carrier will advertise and tease a niche variant of the device rather than the main flagship. If this is the Galaxy S6 then, there is very little reason for the Edge version to exist, unless Samsung has more tricks up its sleeves.

The smartphone pictured by T-Mobile looks more like a polished product than an experimental one like the Galaxy Note Edge, which brings hope that the Galaxy S6 won't be as eccentric as the first curved edge smartphone. The familiar design with a touch of new features is also an interesting development to watch out for when Samsung fully unveils the device next week.
