Swann Video Doorbell with night vision supports Alexa, Google Assistant

Swann, the company best known for its video surveillance products, has announced the Swann Video Doorbell, a connected lock for your home or office. As with other connected smart locks, the Swann Video Doorbell allows users to view and talk to their visitors anywhere in the world, as long as there's a decent Internet connection. The Video Doorbell boasts multiple features, including night vision.

Swann has unveiled its new Video Doorbell at CES 2018, explaining that it only takes a few minutes to set it up. The doorbell comes with a wired option, but can also be recharged; those who go the wired route can connect it to whatever existing doorbell wiring they have.

The footage is viewable through a mobile device, but also through a streaming device that is connected to or supports Google Chromecast. The Swann Video Doorbell will also support Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant — and their related smart speakers — out of the box.

Talking about the Video Doorbell, Swann's VP Europe Paul Birch said:

Consumers want products that work seamlessly with their busy lives and connect with their existing technology. Imagine the convenience of being able to verbally ask to see what's happening at the front door, and then switch the view to the back door – all whilst you're cooking or watching television.

Pricing and availability is unclear at this time.
