Super Mario Maker gets World Records and Bookmarks

While some companies like to charge for updates to their games, no one can fault Nintendo for how they've handled Super Mario Maker. The game has been out for just over three months, and has received a number of big updates for free. And in just a few days, we'll be seeing another.

One of the best parts of Super Mario Maker is also its downfall. I'm talking, of course, about the sheer number of of levels that are available to play. How are you supposed to sift through them all and decide what to play? Well, the latest update contains a feature that should hopefully help with that, called Mario Maker Bookmark.

The new Bookmark feature allows you to sort through the levels on your computer or smartphone, and save them to your console. Then, next time you're ready to sit down and play, you can immediately jump right into the levels that you want. All you need to do is tie in your Nintendo Network ID to the web portal, and you'll be good to go.

Other notable updates include the Fire Koopa Clown Car, which can be used to shoot fireballs and destroy blocks with its charged shot. P Warp Doors allow you to hide doors that can only be seen/accessed when a P Switch has been activated. Bumpers are donut-shaped objects that will bounce Mario whenever he hits them. Finally, World Records will let you compare your best times with the best of the best around the world.

All of these updates will be hitting the game on December 21.
