SteelSeries Arctis Pro + GameDAC Is An Audiophile System For Gamers
SteelSeries just announced a new gaming headset designed for the audiophiles among us: the Arctis Pro product line. The new offerings are the first high-resolution and high-fidelity certified systems for gaming, according to SteelSeries, which is taking on other premium gaming headsets for PC and PlayStation 4 players. Top in the new product line is the Arctis Pro + GameDAC model.
Says SteelSeries, the Arctis Pro + GameDAC is the first Hi-Res Audio System certified for gamers, offering them access to full-resolution audio that'll satisfy even discerning audiophiles. These headsets are designed to complement high-end graphics cards, gaming machines, and displays, offering gamers top-tier audio to match the quality of the rest of their setup.
Joining the Arctis Pro + GameDAC model is the Arctis Pro Wireless and Arctis Pro models, the wireless model obviously shedding the cable tether so that users don't have to worry about plugging anything in. The GameDAC model is most notable, though, offering an ESS Sabre DAC and amp for a superior audio performance. SteelSeries claims this model has the same level of performance as high-end audiophile systems.
All three Arctis Pro headsets offer Hi-Res audio quality at 40,000Hz, which is about double the typical offerings of most stereo headsets. The GameDAC model in particular is capable of 121 dB and offers -95dB Total Harmonic Distortion + Noise tech. Also included is DTS Headphone:X 2.0 tech, which offers 3D virtualization via headphones, plus proximity cues and clear audio based on object/scene/channel.
PlayStation 4 owners in particular have the option to turn on surround sound, view ChatMix and volume levels, plus completely customize the EQ sans the use of a PC. And for PC gamers, they have better customization options thanks to the SteelSeries Engine software. Audio aside, the Arctis Pro headsets boast a ski goggle headband that self-adjusts, a ClearCast microphone, an Airweave ear cushion wrap, and the promos of long-duration comfort.
All three models are available now with the Arctis Pro Wireless at $329.99 and the + GameDAC model at $249.99.
