Starbucks To Offer Free WiFi Nationwide Beginning July 1st
If one of your frequent stops is the inside of a Starbucks, then you know their WiFi has always been available. But, you have to go through those many clicks just to get to the Internet, and that's more of a hassle than anything else. But all of that's about to change, as Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz just announced on Monday that Starbucks all over the country are going to begin offering free WiFi.
Of course, that's not all. While AT&T is still going to be supplying the WiFi connectivity at each Starbucks location, the system is now going to be a "one-click, free WiFi" hotspot. Meaning you should be able to just sit down, turn on your favorite WiFi-enabled gadget, and get to surfing, no questions asked. Additionally, Shultz announced plans for a new online customer experience, which is being called Starbucks Digital Network. It's a partnership with Yahoo!, and it's going to debut some time this Fall.
The service is designed to give US-based Starbucks customers access to paid sites, like The Wall Street Journal, for example. Which should make plenty of people happy. So, starting July 1st, hopefully you've got an unending need for coffee, because now the WiFi access be just as easy, and unending.
