Star Wars: The Last Jedi "Awake" TV Spot Teases New Scenes
There are already numerous unanswered questions orbiting around the upcoming Star Wars film, including, of course, Rey's parentage that may or may not have been "leaked" by Kylo Ren actor Adam Driver. So what's the harm in adding more? The Last Jedi has just gotten a new 45-second TV spot that mostly reuses clips from the recent trailer. Mostly. Of course it has new ones to show, and the last few seconds will definitely send the Interwebs into a frenzy of theories.
It opens up with Luke walking into the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon. We can expect it to be a bittersweet moment of finally "coming home" while also remembering someone whom he didn't have a chance to say farewell to. So the first question is how Luke will handle news of Han Solo's death, since he doesn't exactly handle such things gracefully.
The rest of the trailer is a mashup of old and new clips, the latter including Snoke flanked by his elite guards, Finn shooting and piloting at the same time, and a brief glimpse of Leia that will surely pull at fans' heartstrings again.
And then we come to the end of the spot, with Luke uttering the same words he did in the previous trailer. It then cuts to Rey brandishing her lightsaber. Cue the theories.
Considering how Rey seems to have looked to Kylo for guidance, and how Kylo is hell bent on breaking free from his parents, one could wonder if this is a confirmation of who Rey's parent really is. Or is that scene even from the same rain-drenched place and time at all? Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres December 15, when darkness will rise and light to meet it.
