Star Wars Battlefront 2 Leak Reveals Darth Maul And Yoda
Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be officially unveiled on April 15, but the trailer has leaked early, and it reveals a bunch of details about the game. As expected, the original trailer leak has already been pulled, but not before hundreds of copies were uploaded to YouTube in its place. After looking through it a few times, some details become apparent, not the least of which is an answer to the Yoda mystery.
Owners of the original (and still current) Star Wars Battlefront game were disappointed to find that Yoda never made an appearance as a playable hero. All of the DLCs have been released at this point, and while most of the original trilogy heroes and villains were added, including Darth Vader, Luke, Leia, Han, and Chewbacca, Yoda never made an appearance. That led to speculation that he would be arriving in the game's sequel, something fans have done nothing short of demanded.
Thanks to the trailer leak, we now know for sure: Yoda will be part of Star Wars Battlefront 2, as will Darth Maul. Whether they'll be available straight away at launch or later on when the DLCs arrive is unclear. Want to see it for yourself? Skip to the 0:20s mark in the trailer above and take note of the hands gripping the lightsaber as Darth Maul begins sprinting.
The next Star Wars Battlefront game will also feature Kylo Ren and Rey, according to the leaked trailer, meaning we'll see some Force Awakens content incorporated into this new game franchise. The Death Star is shown exploding, a soldier reminiscences about the past, and we see a few different environments that look dissimilar from ones in the first game. Unfortunately, this is a short teaser trailer and so no actual gameplay footage is included. The trailer does say the footage shown in the trailer is 'representative of PlayStation 4 experience,' however.
If you can't wait for more, EA has some good news: the company announced on its blog in late March that fans would get their 'first look' at the title on April 15 starting at 2:30PM Eastern time during a panel at Star Wars Celebration. Those who can't attend the event can still watch it live via this link.
