Sprint to add Loopt GPS social networking software to their phones

Have you ever been out somewhere like the mall, only to find out later that some of your friends were there too, only you missed them? If this happens to you often, it's probably because your friends are avoiding you. If your friends really do enjoy your company, then you might want to check out this new service from Sprint.

Loopt is actually a startup company that has been offering their service on Boost Mobile phones. It takes advantage of your GPS-enabled phone and lets you know if your friends are nearby. You can program status messages to let your friends know what's going on.

Sprint will be launching the service in a few weeks which will work on over 25 different phones. You will have to pay $2.99 for the service, plus data charges.
