Spider-Man DLC Spoilers Are Out There, Insomniac Warns
Tomorrow is a big day for fans of Spider-Man on PS4, as the game's first post-launch DLC arrived. Dubbed The City that Never Sleeps, this DLC will officially introduce Black Cat, whose return to Manhattan is teased throughout the main game. If you're looking forward to the DLC, you might want to do yourself a favor and stay off of the internet for the rest of the night, as you run the risk of encountering spoilers.
So says James Stevenson, who serves as the Community Director over at Insomniac Games. In a tweet published earlier today, Stevenson notes that the first part of The City that Never Sleeps, The Heist, has already been released in some territories around the world. On top of that, he reminds us that some people have press access to the DLC as well.
What does this mean for those of us who have to wait until tomorrow? It means that the potential to encounter spoilers is definitely there, especially on YouTube, which is a site that Stevenson mentions specifically in his tweet. YouTube, as many of us gamers are probably aware, is an awful place to go if you're trying to avoid spoilers, as many content creators seem to have no qualms with putting spoilers in their titles and thumbnails.
So, consider yourself officially warned: if you're looking forward to playing The Heist when it launches tomorrow, you should be careful when it comes to clicking around the internet. Aside from its excellent web swinging, the story is probably the biggest draw of Insomniac's Spider-Man on PS4, so to have it ruined wouldn't be fun at all.
The Heist is merely the first part of the The City that Never Sleeps' three-episode arc. Shortly before Sony launched Spider-Man, it detailed the release schedule for all three episodes, announcing that episodes 2 and 3 will be out in November and December, respectively.
