Sony Xperia Z silently slinks onto US shelves

We've talked on a few occasions about Sony's Xperia Z smartphone. The smartphone is now available for purchase in the United States after Sony quietly launched at this week. The smartphone is HSPA+ compatible and available online right now.

The Xperia Z is certainly a premium phone selling unlocked for $629.99. This device is available in black, white, or purple colors. It uses a five-inch display with full HD resolution. Under the hood, the smartphone uses a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 quad core processor.

The phone uses the Android 4.1 operating system and features 2 GB of RAM. Internal storage is 16 GB and the camera on the back of the phone offers 13-megapixels. Sony also fits that camera with its Exmor RS mobile image sensor.

While the version of this device available to purchase right now is unlocked, it is expected that land on T-Mobile networks eventually. It will certainly be significantly cheaper via T-Mobile because the company won't require you to purchase the device out right upfront. Sony also slashed the price of another good smartphones called the Xperia ZL from $759.99 to $629.99.
