Sony sets April release for DualShock 3, announces new PS3 bundle

PS3 owners have been waiting a long time for their chance to get a controller that actually rumbles. Legal disputes prevented Sony from releasing a new DualShock controller at launch. They tried to play it off like rumble was last-gen, but we all knew what was up. Anyway, we've finally got a good idea on the release of the DualShock 3 here in the US.

The new controller will be hitting stores sometime this April, though Sony did not give an exact date. They were even less specific about the launch date of their newest PS3 bundle, which will feature Metal Gear Solid 4, an 80GB PS3 and a DualShock 3. They simply said late Q2, which would probably mean sometime in June.

The new DualShock 3 is going to set you back $54.99, which is a nice chunk of change just for a controller that rumbles, but after waiting this long, who's really going to let that stop them? After all, it's only $5 more than the current wireless controller. As for the new 80GB PS3 bundle, it will run $499 at launch.
