Sony Lavender tipped for launch next month as Xperia T4 Ultra

Sony is working n a new product that has been tipped by a leak in recent weeks dubbed the Sony Lavender. A new report making the rounds this week suggests that the Lavender device will launch in August and it is tipped to launch as the Xperia T4 Ultra (E5503). We don't know all the details about the Lavender at this time, but we do know that it will be a phablet.

That suggests a big screen and if rumors hold true, the T4 Ultra will be the first Sony device ever offered to the public that is made using a bezel-free design. The specific size tipped for the screen is 5.5-inches with Full HD resolution.

With most high-end phablet pushing resolutions much higher than full HD today some will be disappointed if that is all the resolution offered. The chipset is tipped as a MediaTek MT6752 octa-core unit running at 1.7 GHz and that chipset will be paired with 2GB of RAM.

A 13MP main camera will handle normal photo duties with no word on the front camera. Android 5.0 will run the show and the phone is tipped for dual SIM capability. Pricing is unknown, but expected in the $300 or under range. At that price, the HD resolution will be more palatable.
