Snow beware, Yuki-taro is hungry

Given the fact that large chunks of the UK are currently incapacitated by the evils of snow (seriously, a couple of inches and we grind to a halt), this Japanese snow-gobbling robot seems very appropriate.  With a bevy of GPS sensors, cameras and a little bit of intelligence, it prowls the icy streets on its dinky tank-tracks, feasting on delicious snow and compressing it into solid blocks.

Those blocks are then jettisoned out of the back, to be collected and stored for Summer cooling needs.  Genius.
