SlingPlayer App for Android 3.0 tablets now available
Sling Media has announced that the SlingPlayer app for Android 3.0 tablets is now available for download. If you have an Android tablet running version 3.0 of Android, you can already use the app for Android mobile devices for free on the tablet in compatibility mode. The downside to that is that the phone app doesn't have the quality that the tablet is capable of for video.
Sling Media has announced that the native app for the Android 3.0 tablets is now available for download. The big downside is that the tablet app isn't free, it will set you back $29. The upside is that the tablet app allows for much better video quality. The app allows you to watch programs live or from your DVR anywhere you can get a web connection. The app will also let the user control the DVR and change the channel.
The controls on the screen of the tablet look like the ones on the TV so the user is familiar with the layout already. The new app will work with the Slingbox SOLO or Pro-HD devices. Tablet users will continue to be able to use the free phone app in compatibility mode.
