Sling TV comes to Xbox, has new add-on packages

Gamers typically don't like putting the controller down, and they'll have to even less starting today. Sling TV has announced their streaming service has landed on Xbox, and is currently exclusive to Xbox One. Microsoft is announcing all Xbox One users will be available for a free month-long trial of Sling TV, too. Additionally, Sling is adding some channels to their core lineup (A&E, History, H2, and Lifetime), and has two new add-on packages to round out their competitive TV streaming service.

If you don't yet own an Xbox One, Microsoft says "you can also head to your nearest Microsoft store or go to microsoftstore.com and receive a limited time offer of three free months of Sling TV service with the purchase of an Xbox One console." That offer only available in the United States.

The first of Sling's add-on packages is named "Lifestyle Extra", and includes truTV, Cooking Channel, DIY and WE tv. Sling says FYI and LMN will be added soon.

A "World News Extra" package has Bloomberg TV, HLN, Euro News, France 24, NDTV 24/7, News 18 and Russia Today.

The two packages expand on Sling TV's "News and Info Extra" package, which is now discontinued. To better serve customers, Sling created two better packages of one cobbled together one. Each will still cost $5.
