Shure kicks off Bluetooth earbuds line with SE112 and SE215

Audio company Shure has announced a new line of Bluetooth earbuds, and getting it off the ground are the Wireless SE112 and SE215. Both models sport Bluetooth 4.1 and feature a tethered-cable design rather than the plastic neckband design that some companies use. These models are built upon the foundation Shure set with its SE Sound Isolating Earphones, offering a wireless option for those looking for an upgrade.

This marks Shure's first entrance into the wireless earbuds market, an increasingly popular alternative to wired headphones thanks to improved Bluetooth technology. The company indicates that these are an alternative to the Shure SE Earphones lineup, the big difference being the new wireless functionality. Both models have a noise-isolating design.

In addition to the new earbuds, Shure has also introduced the Bluetooth Accessory Cable, a separately sold cable that enables anyone with Shure earphones featuring a detachable cable to convert them into a wireless set. The accessory cable includes a built-in control with a microphone and three buttons. The accessory cable is priced at $99, making it almost as expensive as the $149 SE215 and the same price as the SE112.

Both of those wireless models have a 30ft wireless range and the same built-in remote control with microphone. The SE215 is the more powerful of the two options, offering 'enhanced bass' and the ability to block up to 37dB of ambient noise, the latter of which also applies to the SE112 model. Both pairs are now available to buy from Shure and select retailers like Amazon.
