SanDisk reveals Solid State USB Flash Drive, A1-spec microSDXC card

At CES 2017 today, Western Digital's SanDisk brand announced two new high-speed mobile storage products, including a microSD card and a USB flash drive. The first is the 256GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card Premium Edition, the first such card to meet the new Application Performance Class 1 (A1) standard. With this microSD card, smartphone users can take advantage of not just increased storage capacity, but greatly improved speed for loading apps and saving media.

The SanDisk Ultra A1 microSD card features transfer speeds of up to 95MBs per second, and the 256GB capacity means users can store up to 24 hours of Full HD video. Android devices can also take advantage of the free SanDisk Memory Zone app to manage backups and transfer other content to and from the card. Priced at $200, the 256GB SanDisk Ultra A1 microSD will be available starting later this month.

SanDisk's other new product is the 256GB Extreme Pro USB 3.1 Solid State Flash Drive, which promises the speeds and capacity of a SSD. With read speeds up to 420MBs per second and write speeds up to 380MBs per second, a full-length 4K movie can be transferred to the drive within 15 seconds. It also features a durable aluminum casing and retractable connector, keeping contents safe and secure.

With a price of $180, the 256GB SanDisk Extreme Pro USB 3.1 Solid State Flash Drive will also be available starting later this month, at retailers including Amazon and Best Buy.
