Samsung Radiant360 series expands with trio of speakers

Samsung has expanded its lineup of Radiant360 speakers with three new models, each similar in design but with different sizes. The new models are the R1, R3 and R5; they're cylindrical and all-black, offering omnidirectional sound that is the same regardless of the speaker's angle or listener's position. Samsung's own Ring Radiator tech is used in part to achieve the audio quality.

These new speakers were developed at Samsung's Audio Lab located in the US. These are part of the larger Radiant360 speaker product lineup, joining the existing R7 model. The designs were made to allow the speakers to integrate well with just about any home decor — they don't stand out as speakers at first glance, having a shape similar to most vases.

The speakers are wireless and work with Samsung's Multiroom App 2.0, which is available for both iOS and Android. Using the app, owners can share music through the devices, whether there's one speaker or several placed in the home. The app has management features, such as creating playlists and selecting music.

The speakers have touch-based controls — one only needs to touch, tap, or swipe the top of the speakers to do things like play, pause, repeat, and advance the music tracks. The speakers can be connected with Samsung's own soundbars and TVs, as well.

The speakers will be launching the middle of October for $199, $299, and $399 USD.
