Samsung Q900 8K QLED 85" TV pre-orders arrive with $15,000 price

The stunning Samsung Q900 Smart 8K Ultra HD television, the one measuring a massive 85-inches, is now available to purchase. The company has started accepting preorders for the model, which sports the maker's 8K Quantum Processor, as well as artificial intelligence technology used to upscale content to an 8K resolution.

The new Q900 8K UHD television transforms one's home entertainment setup with a massive, high-end panel presenting "true-to-life" image quality, according to Samsung. Content is upscaled to 8K resolution while sharpening definition and reducing noise. As well, this model boasts a max brightness that is 10 times higher than Samsung's ordinary Ultra HD TVs.

This model offers full array local dimming that results in "intense blacks," as well as quantum dot technology and fewer pixels for what Samsung says is a high level of clarity when viewing the picture up close. As with the display, Samsung put a large amount of focus on the audio quality, as well, using automatic analysis to optimize the sound.

One of the TV's most unique features is "Ambient Mode," which enables the TV to mimic the pattern of the wall behind the television. This helps the unit blend into the overall room design when not in use. Alternatively, the display can be used to show personal images, artwork, and similar content.

Samsung has also packed smart features into the television, namely its Bixby personal assistant and QLED Smart Universal Guide. Viewers can use voice commands or the remote to search for content; the system offers up personalized show recommendations that suit the user's tastes.

The Samsung Q900 8K QLED 85-inch model is priced at $14,999.99 USD and will start shipping to customers on October 28.
