Samsung Level audio lineup ushers in premium headphones
Samsung has taken the wraps off its own premium products for audiophiles, the Level lineup of headphones and related gadgets. Kicking things off are two pairs of headphones, a set of earbuds, and a Bluetooth speaker, all of which are set to launch tomorrow at Gilt.com, followed by wider availability later this month.
The products have fairly simplistic names. The Level Over headphones, for example, are over-the-ear headphones, while Level On is — you guessed it — on-ear headphones. Level In, then, is the pair of earbuds joining the initial launch, while Level Box is the Bluetooth speaker for those going a different audio direction.
The Level Over headphones offer Bluetooth connectivity and Active Noise Cancellation, while the Level On cans are wired and hailed as more compact. The Level In earbuds, meanwhile, are said to give music lovers a "three-way speaker system" that ultimately culminates in "natural sound quality".
If headphones aren't your thing, the Level Box Bluetooth speaker boasts 15 hours of playback time on a charge, NFC, an integrated HD microphone, and control buttons.
Following the launch on Gilt.com tomorrow, the lineup will be available on Amazon on July 20, Samsung's own website on July 21, and in Samsung Experience Shops on July 27. The Level Over are priced at $349.99, the On at $179.99, the In at $149.99, and the Box speaker at $169.99.
Given the nature of the Level product line, it is reasonable to assume this is Samsung's attempt at going toe-to-toe with Apple's newly acquired Beats and the premium headphones that come with it. Hit up the timeline below for more news on that business move.
