Samsung Experience 10.0 Launcher unofficially available now

There was perhaps very little love for Samsung's TouchWiz Android skin. It definitely wasn't something owners of other phone brands pined for. But with Samsumg's new "Samsung Experience" UX, it might have finally become something Samsung fans would want to install on their devices ahead of the official release. Fortunately, some have been able to yank out the Samsung Experience 10.0 Launcher from an early build of the Android Pie-based firmware so you can take it for a spin and be prepares for what comes next.

To be clear, this is pre-beta software so do expect some issues, though XDA's Max Weinbach mentioned his experience was more or less smooth. More importantly, there could be some changes between now and whenever Samsung decides to release Samsung Experience 10 to the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy Note 9. Which is probably still months away, judging by last year's schedule for Oreo.

And change Samsung might have to. Experience 10.0 might end up being a controversial change for Samsung users. on the one hand, it does seem to at least try to visually match Android 9 Pie's aesthetics. On the other hand, Samsung may have gone a wee bit trigger happy with the use of large cards with rounded corners all over the place.

Installing the Samsung Experience 10.0 Launcher is a bit of a breeze, thanks in no small part to XDA's efforts. You will have to download and sideload an APK, which could open up a can of security worms if you're not careful. That said, it will only work on Samsung Galaxy phones running Android 8.0 Oreo or later, which includes flagships from the Galaxy S7 all the way to the present and even the Galaxy Note FE.
