Ringles - Now In Original And Extra Crappy

What the hell is a Ringle? Apparently it's a CD that contains "one hit and maybe one remix and an older track—and one ringtone, on a CD with a slip-sleeve cover." So, they're trying to bring back singles and throwing in a ringtone, wow, what a bunch of crap.

Yea, I know, maybe it's not such a bad idea, but they're wanting to charge between $5.98 and $6.98 per Ringle. Let's just break this down, you get a new song, an old song and a ringtone for $6-$7. On the other hand, I could go to iTunes and buy two songs and convert one to a ringtone (for an iPhone that is) for a grand total of $3. Lets say you don't have an iPhone, you can still buy your tracks for $2, and you're left with $4 to find yourself a decent ringtone, which is plenty more than you're going to need.

The two companies that seem to be spearheading this effort are Sony BMG and Universal. Wow, I never would have guessed that these two would be behind it all. You've got Sony who screwed over customers world-wide with their rootkit fiasco, and Universal that jumped off the iTunes ship because they're greedy. Yea, Ringles are going to be huge, just wait.
