Ricoh have announced their latest digital camera, the 10.1-megapixel R10. Featuring a solid metal casing with with pleasantly retro styling, the R10 has a 7.1x optical zoom, a 3-inch HVGA LCD display and ISO sensitivity of 80-1600.
The R10 uses a 1/1.23-inch CCD sensor and 28mm Ricoh lens, and features the Smooth Image Engine III processing engine for improved quality shots. Built-in accelerometers can track whether the camera is being held in portrait or landscape orientation, and rotate the photos automatically; they also offer a digital on-screen level, to help you hold the camera straight.
Internal memory is 54MB and there’s an SD/SDHC card slot to augment that. Three color options will be available – black, silver and brown – and the R10 will go on sale in Japan on September 15th priced at around $400.
