Restyled 2019 Chevy Malibu Gains RS Trim
Chevrolet has restyled its Malibu for 2019 across the line. The automaker is really talking up the new RS trim, which is a first for the Malibu family and starts at around $25,000. The RS trim gets 18-inch machined wheels, black sport grille, black bowtie emblems, rear spoiler, and dual-outlet exhaust.
Inside RS models get a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, black cloth seats, and a standard 8-inch diagonal color touchscreen Infotainment 3 system. The standard engine for the Malibu line is a 1.5L turbo paired with a new CVT transmission.
The Premier trim gets a larger 2.0L turbo and a 9-speed automatic. The front fascia, headlights, and grille are all-new on the 2019 Malibu. LED lighting is used for headlamps on Premier models and there are LED daytime running lamps for LT and Premier.
Premier models get an 8-inch reconfigurable infotainment center display. The Rear Vision Camera system is standard on Malibu L model. Premier buyers get standard heated outboard rear seats.
Chevy is rolling out new colors for interior and exterior of the Malibu. The refreshed Malibu will hit dealers this fall. Other than saying the RS will start at around $25,000 no pricing details on the 2019 Malibu are offered.
