Refreshed 2019 Fiat 500X crossover lands this summer with 70 new safety and security features

Fiat has unveiled the new 2019 500X for the North American Market, and the company is aiming the ride at those on a budget wanting a safe crossover. The 2019 500X gets an all-new 1.3L direct-injection turbo engine with 177hp and 210 lb-ft of torque. Fiat fits that four with engine start-stop tech and MultiAir III valve actuation for fuel economy and reduced emissions.2019 Fiat 500X buyers get standard all-wheel drive promising performance on multiple terrains. The refreshed looks of the 500X include a new front and rear fascia, LED daytime running lights, LED tail lamps, and available LED headlights. Those LED headlights promise 20% greater lighting capability.

Buyers have three new wheel options to choose from with 17-inch silver wheels offered on the Trekking model, 17-inch matte black machined wheels on the Trekking Plus version, and 18-inch matte anthracite aluminum wheels available on Trekking and Trekking Plus models. Along with the new wheel options come three new paint colors including Italia Blue, Vibrant Green, and Milano Ivory. 500X offers buyers seating for five and has new premium seat fabrics, steering wheel, and a redesigned gauge cluster.

An updated infotainment system includes standard Uconnect 4 with a 7-inch touchscreen radio that has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Navigation, Bluetooth, voice command, streaming audio, and SiriusXM Radio are supported. One of the significant changes comes in a raft of new safety and security features. Those features include Adaptive Cruise Control and Front Park Assist.

The Adaptive Cruise Control can automatically reduce speed if another vehicle is encountered in the lane and return to the faster set speed when the car in the way moves. It is also able to keep the car a set distance from the vehicle ahead and operates starting at 19 mph. Front Park assist uses ultrasonic sensors in the bumper to detect stationary objects. Other features include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross path detection, ParkView backup camera, and ESC with roll mitigation. Fiat fits the crossover with seven standard airbags. The 2019 Fiat 500X starts at $25,785 for the base Pop configuration with the Trekking Plus starting at $30,490; it will be at dealers this spring.
