QuarterWave: a rustic wooden Bluetooth speaker

Modern gadgets are a lot of things: sleek, shiny, angular. They're beautiful by all accounts — but not necessarily suited to your tastes. If you're more of a rustic log cabin type than a modern high-rise condo owner, the QuarterWave Bluetooth speaker will match your style with a hearty dose of worn wood.

The design is the QuarterWave's biggest asset: the speaker is handcrafted out of stressed wood, offering "a unique and unmistakable classy appearance," says the maker. The wood is layered and cut, with attention being paid to the grain, and stain is used to help protect it and give it that little extra something.

The QurterWave is being funded through Kickstarter, where it has exceeded its $10,000 goal with $22,640 presently achieved. There's 35 days to go, so it is reasonable to assume we'll be seeing some stretch goals be achieved before the whole thing ends. Shipping is estimated for April 2015.
