QNAP NAS TS-251+ and TS-451+ are ready for virtualization

QNAP has unveiled a pair of new network attached storage devices including the dual bay TS-251+ and the quad bay TS-451+. Both of the storage devices are designed to be scalable and high-performance solutions for small offices and workgroups while being affordable devices to own.

Both of the new storage solutions support Virtualization Station, Container Station, advanced backup, and the ability for real-time and offline video transcoding. The devices also support QvPC tech and have HDMI video playback capability.

The NAS devices also ship with a remote control. An Intel Celeron 2.0 GHz quad-core processor powers both units. The TS-251+ has 2GB of RAM and the TS-451+ has 8GB of RAM. Dual Gigabit LAN ports deliver 225 MB/s data throughput and 205 MB/s data transfer. The storage devices support AES 256-bit volume and folder encryption.

Both devices run on QTS 4.2 NAS operating system and supports running multiple apps via Windows, Linux, UNIX, and Android based virtual machines. The storage devices can be operated as a PC via QvPC tech by plugging in a mouse, keyboard, and HDMI display. All drive bays on both devices are hot swappable. Both of the storage solutions are available now with pricing unannounced.
