PUBG Mobile's 'The Walking Dead' crossover is now available

Battle royale game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is getting its own tie-in with the arrival of 'The Walking Dead' content in PUBG Mobile. The company first announced plans to bring TWD characters and related gear to its battle royale game late last month, though it didn't have much to say about the tie-in at that time. Players can now access that content starting today.

PUBG Mobile is the mobile version of PUBG, enabling players to participate in a battle royale match from the convenience of their mobile device. On September 30, the team behind the game announced plans to bring characters and gear from The Walking Dead, something that arrived today, October 1.

With this, players have new skins to choose from: Rick Grimes, Negan, Daryl Dixon, and Michonne, plus some iconic weapons and items, namely Negan's baseball bat, Michonne's katana, and Daryl's motorcycle. New in-game challenges present players with the opportunity to earn these items, plus they're available to purchase for players who are impatient.

The tie-in arrives less than a week before the premiere of The Walking Dead Season 10, which is scheduled to air on AMC on October 6. This isn't the first tie-in to arrive in PUBG and its mobile variant — earlier examples include ones related to Godzilla: King of Monsters and Resident Evil 2.

These crossovers have also proven popular with competitor Fortnite, which is currently offering Gotham challenges related to the Batman universe, which has temporarily taken over the battle royale island's Tilted Towers / Neo Tilted destination. The game also recently included red balloons related to IT 2 and some Stranger Things portals and skins.
