It’s beginning to seem like we’re getting a new Pokemon UltraSun and UltraMoon trailer every few days. It was just last week that Nintendo debuted a new trailer showing off some of the alternate worlds players will visit in UltraSun and UltraMoon, and today, the topic of discussion is Z-Moves. Specifically, we’re getting a look at the Z-Moves Necrozma’s new forms will be able to use.
As many of you already know, the version mascots for Pokemon UltraSun and UltraMoon are Necromza-corrupted Solgaleo and Lunala. These new forms are called Dusk Mane Necrozma (in the case of Solgaleo) and Dawn Wings Necrozma (in the case of corrupted Lunala). UltraSun and UltraMoon will introduce two new Z-Crystals called Solganium Z and Lunalium Z.
When Dusk Mane Necrozma is holding Solganium Z, it unlocks the Z-Move Searing Sunraze Smash. Conversely, equipping Dawn Wings Necrozma with Lunalium Z will unlock Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom. Both Z-Moves look similar, teleporting the target Pokemon to another dimension to receive a particularly brutal attack. You can see both Z-Moves in action in the trailer below.
The trailer also shows off the new capabilities of the Rotom Dex. You can now forge a relationship with your Rotom-infused PokeDex, opening the door to a lot of neat abilities. When your friendship levels are high, you’ll be able to use a feature called the Roto Loto to gain new items. These new items do a number of useful things, from decreasing the time it takes for eggs to hatch, to increasing the amount of XP your Pokemon earn.
At a certain level of friendship, the Rotom Dex can even enable you to use Z-Moves for a second time in a single battle, giving you another power spike to get through particularly tough fights. Pokemon UltraSun and UltraMoon certainly seem to be a pair of fleshed-out enhancements, and you’ll be able to check them out for yourself when both games launch for Nintendo 3DS on November 17.
