Pokemon Sword and Shield 24 hour livestream: Where and when to watch

The marketing cycle for new Pokemon games usually looks pretty much the same, as The Pokemon Company likes to reveal new information piecemeal through a series of trailers. For Pokemon Sword and Shield, however, The Pokemon Company will be trying something different. Today, it announced a 24-hour livestream set for next week, and it sounds like that livestream may have some new Pokemon reveals lurking within it.

Beginning at 6 PM Pacific on Friday, October 4th, the official Pokemon Twitch channel will go live with a 24-hour stream. The live stream will take place in a forest called the Glimwood Triangle, which is "located deep within the Galar region."

"This is your chance to get to know the various Pokemon that make their home in this forest!" The Pokemon Company's announcement reads. "You may notice things that surprise you!" From a lore perspective, viewers will be helping Sonia, the granddaughter of Sword and Shield's Professor Magnolia, conduct research in the area by viewing the live stream.

So, essentially, we'll be observing a clearing in the Glimwood Triangle for the purposes of researching the Pokemon that reside there. It sounds like we'll be able to spot some of Sword and Shield's new Pokemon by tuning in, along with seeing some of the existing monsters that will be returning for these new installments.

If you're looking forward to Pokemon Sword and Shield and don't have anything better to do next weekend, it might be worth checking out the livestream for a little while. If nothing else, Twitch chat should make the stream an interesting experience. We'll see what secrets the stream holds soon enough, so stay tuned for more.
