Pokemon GO Valentine's Day event now live: Here's what you can get

It's Valentine's Day, which means two things: restaurants will be crowded and a ton of events in free-to-play and live service games are kicking off. Pokemon GO is one such game hosting a Valentine's Day event, and it probably won't shock anyone to hear that the appearance rates of pink Pokemon have been increased. Pokemon GO's Valentine's Day event is now live, and will run throughout the weekend.

Specifically, the appearance rates of Pokemon like Lickitung, Porygon, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Smoochum, Lucdisc, Tyrogue, and Happiny will be increased across the board. Not only will all of those Pokemon hatch from 7km eggs, but you'll also see them more often in the wild, in raids, and in Field Research encounters, according to Niantic.

We're also seeing the debut of two new Pokemon this weekend: Audino and Alomomola. You'll encounter both in the wild and by hatching 7km eggs, so if you want to add them to your collection, this weekend is the time to look for them. Niantic also says that there's a chance to encounter a shiny Happiny or shiny Chansey, so keep your eyes peeled for them. Finally, you'll be able to pick up a Luvdisc-themed outfit from the style shop this weekend.

Niantic also revealed that Lickitung will be the subject of a special raid this weekend. Four-star raids will feature Lickitung on Saturday, February 15th from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. The Lickitung you'll encounter in this raid will know Body Slam, and you'll be able to earn up five raid passes by spinning gym photo discs during the event.

So, if your collection is missing some pink Pokemon, this is definitely the weekend to fill those gaps. Pokemon GO's Valentine's Day event is live now and runs until February 17th at 10:00 PM local time, so get to hunting.
