PlayStation Plus free games for May revealed

As alarming as it may be to realize that we've arrived at the end of April, the fact that May is right around the corner means that it's time for Sony to reveal a new slate of PlayStation Plus games. Those who are planning to pick up Detroit: Become Human when it launches later on in May might want to have a look at this new batch of PlayStation Plus games, as one of them comes from Detroit's director, David Cage.

Yes indeed, one of PS4's free PS Plus games for May is Beyond: Two Souls, the last title that Cage directed before Detroit: Become Human. Many PlayStation 4 owners have likely played Beyond: Two Souls by this point, as it launched on PS3 in 2013 and PS4 in 2015. However, if you haven't and you're wondering if Cage's unique brand of storytelling is for you, this is a good opportunity to find out.

PlayStation 4's other free game for the month is fair bit lighter than Beyond: Two Souls. Rayman Legends will also be joining the line up in the month of May, giving you a colorful, lighthearted palate cleanser to play in between sessions of Beyond and the recently-released God of War. Rayman Legends is unquestionably one of the best platformers to release in the past decade, so be sure to check it out if you're a fan of the genre.

Over on PS3, players will receive free copies of Risen 3: Titan Lords and Eat Them!. PlayStation Vita owners, on the other hand, will get copies of King Oddball and Furmins on the house. In addition to being cross-buy enabled for PlayStation 4, King Oddball is also available for PlayStation 3, so PS3 owners can look forward to an extra game this month.

So, all in all, this isn't a bad line up of PlayStation Plus games, assuming you haven't already played them. Be sure to grab April's games if you haven't yet – as your chance to do so will soon disappear – and head down to the comments section to let us know what you think of May's lineup.
