Pixel 3 pre-orders start immediately after announcement

Often, the reveal of a new product doesn't always mean you can buy them immediately. For some business and practical reasons, very few companies begin sales or even pre-orders on the same day, which is why same-day launches are often a big deal. Google isn't yet doing that this year but it will do the next best thing. According to promo emails, pre-orders for the Pixel 3 will start immediately after Google's big event next week.

All that means, of course, is that fans will basically have no time left if they want to be one of the early birds. While we don't know if there are prizes for the first few orders, some do take pride in being there first, especially when certain configurations or color options will be revealed to be in limited supply.

Fortunately, almost everything about the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have been leaked by now in what could be Google's biggest secrecy problem in years. Unless, of course, it's one massive hoax which may or may not be perpetuated by Google itself. Either way, the announcement will still be interesting if just for finally putting that debate to rest.

And it's not just the Pixel 3. Although a Pixel Watch is already off the table, Google still has plenty to show. There's the Home Hub smart display and a 3rd gen Chromecast whose capabilities we still don't know. And there's also the Pixel Slate which may well be the first Chromebook to dual boot with Windows 10.

The Pixel 2 was a test of whether lightning would strike twice. The Pixel 3 will test whether the things that made Pixel phones special still hold today when much of the market has moved on to other trends, especially with more than two cameras on the back and thin chins.
