Peter Molyneux is not actually retiring, Godus remains

In what was either a momentary hacking or a brilliant use of PR, Peter Molyneux seemed to have been retiring for about 20 minutes this afternoon. In the moments after Molyneux's Twitter confirmed that he'd be taking the game Godus down from Steam AND he'd be retiring from the game industry, major news sources aplenty jumped on the opportunity to report. Not 13 minutes later, Molyneux appeared to have regained control over his Twitter account, suggesting he'd been hacked.

So which is it, we'd love to know – was the account actually "hacked" – aka someone found the account's password – or was this just a move to bring the game Godus back into the spotlight? Either way, the deed is done. Have a peek at the Tweets in question below and see what you make of it.

Next you'll see a trailer for Godus, a game you can play on iOS or through Steam right now if you do so dare.

Godus was a game developed thanks to the help of early fans through crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. It was originally developed by the group 22Cans and published by the folks at DeNA. This game places the user in a god-like role, saving the life of a single individual and going on to run a civilization.

In short – Peter Molyneux isn't going anywhere. No worries.
