PC gamers be warned: Dragon Quest Heroes coming to Steam

That may sound a bit ominous and that would be partly correct, considering how many hours might be sacrificed and lost to this title. For the first time in known gaming history, a Dragon Quest game will be made available on the Steam distribution platform. OK, it might not be exactly like a true fledged Dragon Quest game, but the ridiculously named "Dragon Quest Heroes The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below" will be as recent a DQ title as you can get, and now it's heading over to the PC as well.

Dragon Quest Heroes, or DQH as some prefer to call it, is more a hack and slash game in the style of Dynasty Warriors than the JRPG that most have grown to love over the decades in the same way they have loved the Final Fantasy franchise. But make no mistake, it's still very much a part of DQ, especially with the game's original makers involved in the development.

DQH launched on consoles, both Xbox One and PS4, earlier this year and was met with more or less positive reception. Now Square Enix seems to be trying to repeat the same magic on PCs. Of late, it seems that the game developer and publisher has been increasing its push to PCs, if not new titles then ports of old ones.

Dragon Quest Heroes The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below will launch on Steam on December 3. But those who pre-order now will not only get a 10 percent discount off the $59.99 price tag, they also practically get the Slime Edition of the game. This includes eleven Slime weapons and two new maps.

Also coming to Steam next month is the final installment of the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy. Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII lands a week later on December 10.
