Panasonic And Charlotte Motor Speedway Team For Worlds Largest HD Screen
Panasonic and Charlotte Motor Speedway have announced that they are teaming up to put the world's largest HD video board into the NASCAR venue in May of 2011. The new screen will make many of the big HD video boards look small by comparison whilst simultaneously blocking the view from some of the seats around the place it seems.
The screen will be massive at 200-feet wide, 80-feet tall, and it will weigh 165,000 pounds. The board will have a total of 16,000 square feet and will be placed between turns two and three of the superspeedway track. The video board will be situated for fans sitting in the front stretch from turn four to turn one.
The video board will be 720p resolution and the picture will be made with nine million LEDs. The video board will be used to show race action, interactive entertainment, and sponsor information along with leader board updates. Construction for the video board will start on October 13.
