Onvocal OV wireless headset with Alexa and smart audio control now available

Onvocal's OV wireless headset unveiled back in December is now available to purchase, the company has announced. Unlike similar earbuds and headsets, the OV brings Alexa directly to the user, enabling them to ask Amazon's personal assistant for help in various tasks. According to Onvocal, these are the first-ever 'smart headphones' featuring Intelligent Sound Control, enabling the user to control chat, ambient, and voice directly.

The OV's biggest selling point is its Amazon Alexa integration; with this, the wearer can control their connected devices, ask for information, and other things the personal assistant supports. If Alexa isn't to your tastes, the OV headset also supports Google Voice and Siri. Onvocal also says that its OV is the only wireless headset of its kind to give users voice command access to things like Amazon Music and Audible.

In addition to the personal assistant support, OV allows users to customize and control the quality of the audio via Ambient, Voice and Chat controls. The company explains that this means users can, as one example, double-tap the Chat button so that the music volume decreases and the 'Ambient' and 'Voice' are activated. This enables the wearer to talk to someone — a server, perhaps — without having to take out the earbuds.

The company says that its product offers a combination of perfectly clear audio coupled with 'smooth vocals' and strong bass. As the photo shows, the headset features an armature; Onvocal has multiple microphones for clear communication while reducing background noise. There's one 'catch,' though, and it's that you'll need to use the company's Android or iOS app for access to all of the features.

The headset is available now for $399 USD from both Onvocal's site and Amazon.
