olloclip Multi-Device Clip brings its lens system to any phone

olloclip can perhaps be credited for giving the early days of mobile photography a much-needed boost with its interchangeable lens system. Even with today's more sophisticated smartphone cameras, those lenses still provide capabilities that would be impossible for smartphones to achieve without, well, a lens. Especially if you have an Android phone, since olloclip's lens system was made for each and every iPhone generation. That all changes with the new gives the olloclip advantage to everyone.

olloclip's lenses are great and all but they are rendered practically useless without the clip that holds them in place. olloclip makes those clips every year to ensure that they're compatible with whatever design changes Apple makes to its iPhones. Considering how Android smartphones vary wildly in camera position and design, it's almost logistically impossible for olloclip to make one for each brand or generation, even if it means just catering to Samsung.

While it's probably not going to fit all smartphones, the new olloclip Multi-Device Clip promises to at least be compatible with most. The expanding clip makes it even possible to support those with cases and screen protectors up to 12 mm in combined thickness. It's also easy to just flip the clip from front to back and vice-versa. Whether your camera is at the center or at the corner, the olloclip will fit just fine.

And you don't even have to worry about separate lenses. The olloclip Multi-Device Clip is designed to work with any of the company's Connect X lenses, originally designed for the iPhone X. Sadly, if you have the older non-X Connect lenses, you'll have to buy new ones as well.

Starting mid-September and for $59.99, you will be able to buy an olloclip Multi-Device Clip with any one Connect X lens of your choice. Additional lenses could be purchased separately, with prices starting at $44.99. Those lenses include Super-Wide, Ultra-Wide, Telephoto (2X optical zoom), Fisheye and Macro, Macro 7X +14X, and Macro 21X.
