Ojo Videophone Soon To Be Available To Pretty New Zealanders

Video calling just doesn't seem to be the cash generator any cellphone network operator, phone manufacturer or future forecaster wants to think it will be.  I can remember, when I was younger, thinking about how great it would be to not only hear people but see them again; now, I've got a 3G cellphone, but do I video-call anyone?  Nope.  However, Ojo, created by WorldGate and marketed by handset giant Motorola, is another attempt to change all that, and their confidence must've been boosted by settling a huge deal with Telecom New Zealand.

The Ojo will be available for a flat monthly rate, and connect via either cable or DSL broadband; WorldGate claim that it'll be plug'n'play.  SlashGear have actually got one of these sexy things on the way, so we'll be running a review as soon as we've got over the shock of seeing each other grinning in glorious technicolour.
