Nintendo Switch weekly eShop update serves up a beloved RPG

We've arrived at another Thursday, which means Nintendo has delivered a fresh list of games that are about to hit the eShop. This week, that list is arriving the day after a Nindies Showcase that revealed titles like Cuphead and Cadence of Hyrule for the Nintendo Switch. We've still got a little while to wait before those games arrive, but some of the titles announced yesterday are already available on the eShop.

Specifically, Nuclear Throne and Blaster Master Zero 2 are the titles that have already launched. Blaster Master Zero 2 should need little introduction considering the presence the series has had on the Switch since the very beginning, while Nuclear Throne is probably a good choice for people who can't get enough of rouge-like games.

Nuclear Throne and Blaster Master Zero 2 were both highlighted in Nintendo's announcement today, but neither of them are this week's marquee release. That distinction belongs to Final Fantasy VII, which lands on the Switch eShop next week. Its release follows the February launch of Final Fantasy IX, so if you've been on the prowl for a kick of nostalgia, then it looks like Nintendo has you covered. In a interesting twist, both the 3DS and the Wii U are getting new releases today. It's particularly surprising to see the Wii U on that list since it's been officially discontinued – a fate that hasn't been handed down to the 3DS quite yet. As always, though, the lion's share of releases are heading to Switch, so head down to the comments section and let us know if you're looking forward to any of these new games.
